Art students are set to swap water coolers for water colours and photocopiers for photo prints as they transform one of Edinburgh’s prime offices into a gallery.
The real estate investor and asset manager Mapeley has invited third year students from Edinburgh College of Art to create an exhibition of their work at one of the company’s landmark properties, Clarendon House, at 116 George Street, Edinburgh. You can view the office space here www.116georgestreet.co.uk.
As part of the show, the best exhibit will win the first Clarendon House Award. Sponsored by Mapeley, the winning student will receive £1000. All three floors in the premises at 116 George will be filled with work from students in Intermedia Art, Painting, Photography, Sculpture and MA (Hons) Fine Art.
A panel from Edinburgh College of Art and Mapeley will judge the winner on the opening night.
The free exhibition opens to the public on Monday 5 November until Thursday 15 November. Opening hours are 11am-4pm, Monday to Friday.
A special preview show will be held on 1 November, 6pm-8pm.
