We’ve recently carried out a branding project for Stead’s Place, a three acre commercial property site located in Leith, Edinburgh. The site is a mix of retail, office and industrial units.
We were asked to develop branding and create a logo that would target small to medium sized businesses to occupy the vacant units.
This site is located approximately one mile to the north of Edinburgh city centre on the west side of Leith Walk. The property comprises a two-storey parade with 12 retail units fronting Leith Walk on the ground floor and 18 office units at first floor level. To the rear of the parade, accessed from Steads Place, are six adjoining, part interconnecting, steel framed light industrial/warehouse units.
Leith Walk is a long established secondary retail area, running from Great Junction Street and the Newkirkgate Shopping Centre in the north, to the Omni Centre and Piccardy Place in the south.
In developing the branding for the project we created a logo which represents a marker pin. This reinforces the strong location of the property with close proximity to the city centre. Using strong colour we give a prominence to the development that can stand out amongst other available property in the area.
The logo was supported by the strapline ‘Make It Your Own’ and offers a personal message to prospective tenants. This is aimed at small to medium sized businesses who can take advantage of this well located business place. Offering a blank canvas for the individual businesses to create their own environment.
