Our social media team had a busy run up to Christmas, working with Westside Plaza shopping centre in Edinburgh to develop its Facebook presence by building likes and engaging shoppers to create a stronger relationship with the centre.
We created and managed a campaign to encourage visitors to Santa’s Grotto in the centre. We ran a competition using a Facebook app to engage shoppers by offering a chance to win a free visit to take the kids to see Santa, with daily winners throughout the duration of the campaign. To build awareness of the competition we ran Facebook ads targeting women in Edinburgh and entry to the competition was contingent on liking the Facebook page.
We also managed the Facebook page creating content and building a relationship with the shoppers by posting offers, fun stuff about Christmas and photographs of competition winners.
The campaign was incredibly successful. We increased the page likes from 200 to 780; way exceeding our target of an additional 200 likes; and we received over 100 competition entries. Our Facebook ad campaign generated almost 4000 clicks from 300k impressions giving a click though rate of 1.25% which is almost 25 times higher than the average CTR on Facebook of 0.051%.
